Simply Amazing!!!

George Eliot wrote the following.

"Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away."

"What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent, unspeakable memories."

"There is no despair so absolute as that which comes with the first moments of our first great sorrow, when we have not yet known what it is to have suffered and be healed, to have despaired and have recovered hope."

I cannot, but be amazed and at the same time agree.

Info: Found out that George Eliot is the pen-name of Mary Anne Evans.

Debugging life

A question raised by one of my closest friend, hit me so hard that I wanted to find the answers to the unanswered.

This led me to search and find out the basic meaning of it, if possible from the beginning till the end. Today being a holiday, I had the leisure to have my space and thus most of the day was spent in search of the truth (ah, whatever).

The outcome, was actually irrelevant to me, but it was infact the peace of mind that I was searching for since the past few days that led me into this undertaking.

Now, after all the search, my findings are with me. I am not the person to go, pump fist and shout. Alas!, these findings are irrelevant to me anyways. But, only if my friend is interested to have a look into it, I would be glad that my efforts were not futile. Let's see when that time comes...

Although my findings do confirm what I always believed in, I am in-debt to my friend for actually indirectly/unknowingly pushing me into this task, I now have a deeper understanding at one more subject.

"Give me some sunshine, give me some rain; Give me another chance, I wanna grow up once again.".

Phew!!!

Perseverance quotes

Life is all about not giving up. It is about not giving in till either you succeed or life gives up.

-- Buddha

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
-- Thomas A. Edison

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close  they were to success when they gave up."
-- Thomas A. Edison

"They can because they think they can."
-- Virgil

"When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure"
-- Peter Marshall

"Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome."

"Trust in yourself. Your perceptions are often far more accurate than you are willing to believe."

Inspiring thoughts

Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion.
There is nothing you cannot do!
Impossible is temporary...
Impossible is potential...
Impossible is nothing, because...
Nothing is impossible!

Hope floats

Few years ago, I saw this wonderful movie "The Shawshank Redemption" which became an instant favorite.

Infact, one of the best motivating quotations came from this movie which has always acted as a catalyst to keep me going when everything seems to have been lost.

Hope is a good thing; May be the best of things; And no good thing ever dies...

It gives me the strength to go on, even trying to achieve the impossible. Failure may happen, it happens to the the best. But I should never fail myself, nor should I fail in trying.

A small prayer

There are times, when I am left feeling defeated, not having belief on my own abilities. Lord, those are the times I need you to restore the faith - in you and in myself.

I pray you, not to remove my difficulties, but to give me the strength to overcome those myself.

"Lucky are those who don't have problems in their life, but blessed are those who have got problems but rise above them to conquer and make it a stepping stone to success."

Quotes

I keep reading so many quotes. But some are special.

Here goes two of the best:

"There are two kinds of people in this world; Those who remember names, and those whose names are remembered. The choice is yours."

"A man there was, and they called him mad; The more he gave, the more he had"

How true!

When I was left spellbound!

Yesterday, I was having a discussion with a close friend of mine on a topic. I consider myself good at argumentative topics and have always relished the challenge with someone with whom I can have a "constructive discussion" which will expand my thinking.

It is not very often (I can't even think when was the last) that I am found wanting for answers. Generally, I have an opinion or two on most topics and have a series of arguments also. And most of the time, I find a way to put my point across which the opposite person agrees to.

This friend, gave such a different perspective (and a much better one to mine, if I may add) to the topic that I did not find any word to either counter or express my admiration. I was spellbound. You won the match buddy, hands down. You provided me a different way of looking at something. Good to have such persons close to me :).
